How it works

Sorted in three simple steps.

No forms to fill in front of anyone, no awkward counter conversation. Just a proper, private chat with a pharmacist who does this every week.

  1. 1

    A discreet, private chat

A short medical history, your current medicines, and what you've noticed. It all happens in our private consultation room, behind a closed door, never at the open counter.

  2. 2

    A quick health check

A blood-pressure check and a few questions, so the pharmacist can make a safe decision, and spot anything worth flagging to your GP.

  3. 3

    The right option for you

If treatment is suitable, the pharmacist talks through your options and can help on the day. If it isn't, you get honest advice and a clear next step, at no charge.

Worth knowing

Common, treatable, and worth a proper look.

Erectile dysfunction affects most men at some point, and it becomes more common with age. It's rarely something to be embarrassed about, and it's usually very manageable.

This page is general information about our service, not medical advice or a recommendation of any specific treatment. Any treatment is decided by the pharmacist after a full consultation, and supplied only where it is clinically suitable.

More than a symptom

Erectile dysfunction can be an early sign of other health conditions, such as high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, diabetes, or heart and circulation problems.

That's why a consultation looks at your wider health, not just the symptom. We check your blood pressure as part of it, and point you to your GP if anything needs a closer look.

Is it right for you?

Who the consultation suits.

There's nothing to prepare and no pressure to go ahead. The pharmacist works out what's safe and suitable for you on the day. As a rough guide:

A good fit if you…

  • Are a man aged 18 or over
  • Have noticed problems getting or keeping an erection
  • Would rather speak to a pharmacist in person than fill in an online form
  • Are generally well, or managing things like blood pressure or diabetes
  • Would like your general health looked at while you're here

We'll take extra care, or suggest your GP, if you…

  • Have a heart condition, chest pain, or a recent heart attack or stroke
  • Take medicines for angina (nitrates), which need checking first
  • Have very high or very low blood pressure
  • Have had a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes
  • Take other medicines the pharmacist needs to review first

This isn't a full list. The pharmacist always checks your own history and medicines during the consultation, and will tell you clearly if treatment isn't right for you that day, along with what to do instead.

Discretion

Confidential, from start to finish.

Privacy is built into how the service runs, not something you have to ask for.

A private room

Every consultation is behind a closed door in our consultation room, never at the open counter.

Nothing on show

Nothing about your visit is visible to other customers, and you collect anything discreetly alongside whatever else you're picking up.

Kept confidential

Your visit is recorded only in our secure clinical record, protected under UK pharmacy and GDPR rules.

Your GP, your call

We only involve your GP with your agreement, unless there's a safety reason, which we always explain first.

Common questions

Erectile dysfunction, answered.

Is the consultation confidential?

Yes. Every consultation takes place in our private consultation room, behind a closed door, never at the open counter. Nothing about your visit is visible to other customers in the pharmacy.

Is it free?

The consultation itself is free. If treatment is suitable for you, the pharmacist explains the cost clearly before you decide anything, and there's no obligation to go ahead.

What happens in the consultation?

A short, private chat about your health and what you've noticed, plus a quick check such as your blood pressure. The pharmacist then talks through suitable options and, where appropriate, can help on the day.

Will my GP be told?

We'll only involve your GP with your agreement, unless there's a safety reason to, in which case the pharmacist explains it first. Your record with us is kept confidential.

Is erectile dysfunction common?

Very. Most men experience it at some point, and it becomes more common with age. It's also usually very manageable, and a consultation is the first step to sorting it out.

Could it be a sign of something else?

Sometimes, yes. ED can be an early sign of conditions such as high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, diabetes, or heart and circulation problems. That's exactly why a proper check is worthwhile, and why we look at your wider health, not just the symptom.

Is treatment suitable for everyone?

Not always, and that's exactly what the consultation is for. Some health conditions and medicines, such as certain heart problems or angina medicines, mean it may not be safe, so the pharmacist checks your history and current medicines first. If it isn't right for you, they'll explain why and suggest the best next step.

What if treatment isn't suitable for me?

The pharmacist will explain why and suggest the right next step, which may include seeing your GP. There's no charge either way, and you won't be left without a plan.

Discreet, and sorted.
