Eligibility
Who this service is for.
Weight-loss medication isn't right for everyone. As a general guide, you may be suitable if:
- You're aged 18 or over
- Your BMI is 30 or above, or 27+ with a weight-related health condition
- You're committed to changes in diet and activity alongside medication
- You don't have a medical condition or take a medicine that would make treatment unsafe
The final decision is always made by our pharmacist after a face-to-face assessment. If we don't think the service is appropriate for you, we'll explain why and signpost to alternatives, including your GP.
Important: weight-loss medication should always be combined with reduced-calorie eating and increased physical activity to be effective. We'll talk about what that looks like for you.

Consultation and treatment costs depend on the medication prescribed and the length of the plan. We'll give you a clear breakdown of costs before you commit to anything.
Do you offer support if I have side effects?
Yes. You'll have access to follow-up reviews and we're a phone call away during opening hours if you have questions or experience side effects.
Can I get this on the NHS?
NHS weight-management services do exist but are commissioned via your GP and have specific eligibility criteria. We can explain those options if a private prescription isn't right for you.
